If it does, restart again but not in Safe Mode and verify that it still works. Restart in Safe Mode and launch PS and see if it works. Move the fonts in Library/Fonts and Users/yourusername/Library/Fonts to folders on your desktop ('LibraryFonts' and 'UserLibraryFonts') This is to make sure we are only running the System Fonts. I think we need to verify that it is a font conflict and not something else in your primary account. miss it myself, live for work in Germany, good country but just not the same.Įver been north to like Sutherland? is my favourite!
also needed to move the fonts back as some programmes seem to need them. However, after loging in to my own account, PS does not work (same old problem). If you are experiencing the same issue, more than likely the problem resides at the System/Fonts folder or is not related to fonts at all. Move all of the fonts that are in the 'Library/Fonts' folder (not the System/Library/Fonts) to the new folder on your desktop The next step I would do would be to make a new folder on your desktop.
It has been too long since I have been there ('05) and the hielands are screaming at me to return. If you are experiencing the same issue, more than likely the problem resides at the System/Fonts folder or is not related to fonts at all.īTW, where are you in my 2nd home? I try to make it there every 5 years or so. Please log into your new or guest account, not your main account and try your application. You will be prompted to log in to an account and there should be "Safe Mode" indicated in red on the login screen. Move all of the fonts that are in the 'Library/Fonts' folder (not the System/Library/Fonts) to the new folder on your desktop (you will need admin rights.) Restart in Safe Mode (hold down the shift key at boot-up.) This should clear your system's font caches.
Ok, we know that we have a conflict at the system level. (Click on the Guest Account and check the 'Allow guests to lon in to this computer' option.) This can also help narrow down if another 3rd party app is causing the conflict. Or you could enable (if you already haven't) the Guest user account in System Preferences>Accounts. I've also disabled much every other font that gets installed by 3rd parties and use FEXP to manage all fonts except for the system fonts.)ĭo you have any fonts in your Users/yourusername/Library/Fonts? You might want to create a brand new User account to see if your problem is derived from your main User account and not the system itself. Library/Fonts and ~/Library/Fonts folders are completely empty. My System/Library/Fonts folder only contains the OS X critical fonts.

(I use FontExplorer X Pro for my font activations. I'm not real familiar with FontBook as I don't use it so I'm not sure what the best way to do this is. You might want to deactivate any fonts that are not required by the system to function and check the application in question (PageSender) to see if it works as it should. FontBook and the system should not allow another form of Helvetica Neue to be activated. You might have a duplicate of Helvetica Neue, but since this is a protected system font and you are using Font Book, I'm not sure that this font is causing your issues. I don't recommend this as some applications require this font. Please read section 4 of the link I posted earlier for the best way to do this. That is why you have to remove it from both folders. If you only remove the font in System/Library/Fonts, the next time you restart, Helvetica Neue will be placed back into that folder automatically. OK so can I remove the font form the normal font folder than?
